Who we are and how to contact us
Martin Bond Electrical Contractors Limited (MBEC) operates martinbond.co.uk. For questions about your personal information or to exercise your rights, email contact@martinbond.co.uk or telephone 07470 131 082.
Information used for enquiries
When you request a quote, we receive the name, email address, telephone number, postcode, property type, work requirements, preferred timescale and message you provide. You can also attach photographs. Photographs are optional; please avoid including people, private documents or other unnecessary personal details. We need the required contact and job details to respond to your request.
We use this information to discuss your requirements, prepare quotations and arrange electrical work. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract or carry out agreed work, that is our lawful basis. For other correspondence, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and managing our business. We also have a legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and preventing spam.
How the website handles your information
The form sends your enquiry and any photographs to our business email account through Proton Mail. Enquiry messages are not saved as entries in the website database. Photographs are held temporarily on the server while the message is prepared and are removed from that temporary location after processing. Copies sent with the email remain in the email account.
The website uses a coded value derived from your IP address to limit repeated form attempts, with a 15-minute expiry. The web server also records technical access information, such as IP addresses, requested pages and browser details, for operation and security.
Service providers and access
People handling enquiries and electrical work for MBEC can access the information needed for their work. Our website hosting provider and Proton Mail process information as part of providing hosting and email services. Proton provides information about its processing locations and safeguards in its Mail privacy policy. We may also need to disclose relevant information to professional advisers or where required by law.
How long information is kept
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is needed to respond, prepare a quotation and handle any follow-up. If an enquiry leads to work, relevant correspondence may become part of the job record. Retention depends on the work involved, warranty and safety documentation, accounting requirements and any outstanding dispute. Information that is no longer needed for these purposes should be deleted. You can contact us to ask about the retention of your particular enquiry.
Cookies and external links
WordPress uses cookies for administrator login and account functions. Following a link to another website, including a social media service, takes you to a service with its own privacy and cookie arrangements.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, request its deletion or restricted use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request a portable copy. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or deal with claims. Contact us using the details above so we can consider your request.
You can raise a concern with us or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
